In order to deliver to tenants’ needs, IVTU has curated a “Freshmen Success Guide.” Not just limited to freshmen, this guide provides a 101 of Isla Vista for those who are new to IV. Disclosing details about moving in, rights & responsibilities, moving out, online resources, and much more. The guide is included below and can also be found on our website at ivtu.as.ucsb.edu/files/2020/12/IVTU.FSG_.pdf
In addition, IVTU offers free, housing-related consultation appointments to all UCSB students and Isla Vista residents. Appointments are available through Zoom, FaceTime, Skype, or over-the-phone. These appointments can be used to discuss a variety of housing-related topics, including lease review, habitability concerns, roommate problems, security deposit questions, and more. Coastal Fund’s mission statement is to provide funds to preserve, protect, and enhance the terrestrial and marine habitats associated with the shoreline of the University of California, Santa Barbara through preservation, education, open access, research, and restoration. The Coastal Fund is bound by its mission statement and seeks to fund projects that align with its core tenets to protect the local coastal environment. Applicants should demonstrate a strong connection between their project and the Coastal Fund mission statement.
Coastal Fund grant applications must be submitted in connection with a UCSB affiliated department, registered nonprofit, or government agency. Unaffiliated individuals cannot apply for funding. While Coastal Fund does not set a limit on the amount of funding an applicant may request, applicants should note that we typically allocate $150,000 amongst 15-25 projects each quarter. Two separate applications have been developed based upon the amount requested, with minor funding available for proposals under $1,000 and major funding available for proposals over $1,000. Additionally, we encourage you to watch our Virtual
Grant Workshop to learn more about the Coastal Fund grant process before submitting your grant applications. The Workshop will also include a transcript if needed!
For more information on application deadlines, specific requirements and downloadable application forms, please feel free to check out the Coastal Fund website (link https://coastalfund.as.ucsb.edu/) or email Coastal Fund @coastalfundoutreach@as.ucsb.edu.
