What can I do for students? I am responsible for the fiscal management of the department, all staff personnel and legal matters.  I advise all elected student executive officers and senate, as well as all entities, and units within the department.  Further, I oversee the enforcement of all Associated Students, and Regental policies and procedures as they pertain to this department and non profit agency.
 
What other duties do I have? I serve as an advocate of Associated Students interests and concerns.  For example, I provide students with information and on career development in either Student Affairs or Academic Departments. I serve on various campus -wide projects, such as serving as the facilitator for town halls.  In addition, I sit on the Campus Community Council, on various campus wide search committees, and task forces as assigned by the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and/or the AS President

Who do I advise? 91.9 KCSB-FM’s Executive Committee and KCSB-FM student and non-student volunteers, more generally.

Campus committees: Numerous KCSB committees/subcommittees; A.S. and KCSB hiring committees.

What can I do for students? I advise on a range of concerns: KCSB operations, volunteer coordination, organizational development, special-projects/events coordination; community and public relations, promotions and marketing (especially through written and online-platforms); radio production; public-service programming and announcements; media/entertainment industry careers; and community-media issues.
What other duties do I have? A.S. awards committee, philanthropic giving, budget preparation assistance for student organizations.
Where is my desk? 1055 Storke Communication Building (under Storke Tower).
When is a good time to drop in? Monday afternoons, most any time on Tuesdays-Fridays, but preferably email or call for an appointment, as meetings or other duties might take me away from my desk.

What can I do for students? I train, educate and assist with professional broadcast techniques / best practices, station operations, volunteer engineering opportunities (minor projects), multimedia production, general live media (tv included) broadcasting procedures and to have fun with a great form of communication

What other duties do I have? Help students to understand KCSB independent radio is a community legacy, emergency information release medium, legitimate form of communication and as a creative outlet.

Where is my desk? KCSB engineering room, next to KCSB in the stroke communications plaza courtyard. room 1029

When is a good time to drop in? Check the engineering room (1029) or the station (room 1025 / 1015) and if not, that means I am up at the transmitter site making sure the region can hear KCSB. If you need to schedule a meeting, email or call ext. 3921.

What can I do for students? I work to facilitate the path to achieving goals for my students and groups by advising on procedures and policy. More specifically I articulate agreements, requirements, regulations and collaborate with relevant UCSB departments on behalf of the Associated Students Committees. I provide logistical support navigating the campus and AS policies and procedures. 

What other duties do I have? I also provide supervision and guidance at the AS Pardall Center.

Where is my desk? I am located in the 1st floor of the AS Pardall Center in Isla Vista.

When is a good time to drop in? Monday-Friday between 11 am-5 pm. It is also a great idea to schedule a time to meet in advance.

What can I do for students? I am the Primary payroll administrator. I initiate and oversee payroll for all personnel. I assist and advise students in matters involving the payroll process.

Who do I advise? I support the Advisors for KCSB Radio and The Bottom Line and the students running KCSB 91.9 FM. I also serve as a liaison between KCSB Radio staff and other Associated Students entities.  

What can I do for students?

  • Listen and inspire them to do their best work.
  • Guide them through community radio logistics, FCC requirements and content issues.
  • Support them in creating a sound communications operation.
  • Write, edit and record in a pinch.
  • Recognize and promote their efforts through social media.

Where is my desk? I am located in the back office of the Blue Rooms of the Storke Student Communications Building #589 aka Storke Tower.

Campus committees: I coordinate the A.S. Public Safety Commission’s UCIV program; a student-initiated, volunteer led outreach program to facilitate public safety and well being in Isla Vista during weekends and major IV events.

What can I do for students? I’m here to support Isla Vista and UCSB communities with the Pardall Center: a unique and vibrant space to study, work, host meetings and events, and seek resources or support.

Where is my desk? I’m located on the first floor of the Pardall Center.

What can you do for students?

  • I teach workshops each quarter at the A.S. Media Center (located in the A.S. Annex, Building 434).
  • I also supervise the student graphic artists, videographers, and photographer.

  • I specialize in training undergraduate tutors that support learning in local elementary schools and after school programs in Isla Vista, Goleta, and Santa Barbara  schools. 
  • I provide monthly educational trainings to tutors, and help place volunteers in local school and community sites.  
  • I can help you find volunteer opportunities on and off campus, youth programming and many others. 
  • Come into the CAB office and ask about Alternative Breaks, CAB, CFF, and pretty much all things AS.

  • I am the Green Dot liaison for Associated Students. 
  • I coordinate Green Dot Bystander Violence Prevention workshops for AS, as well as conduct workshops for staff and students on campus by request.
