Battle of the Bands 2019

Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 8 PM – 11 PM The Hub

Who’s ready to rock? The time has come to go head to head with the best bands in Isla Vista at UCSB’s annual Battle of the Bands competition!Submissions are due before Friday, January 11th @ 5pm @ ASPB.AS.UCSB.EDU/BOTB/. Submission rules are detailed on the submission website.

Winners will get to perform and film a live session on UCSB’s own FM-radio station, KCSB, broadcasting for miles and miles beyond our little section of the coast! But wait there’s more! Winners will also get to perform during our very own Noon Storke Shows!


KCSB-FM Winter Orientation

Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 6 PM – 7:30 PM Corwin Pavillion

Every quarter, KCSB (that’s us) hosts a meeting to recruit new programmers, news and sports staff, and behind the scenes volunteers.

Orientations are open to anybody; interested college or high school students, community members, faculty etc. are all invited to attend. We are a hybrid of a college and community radio station, so everyone has equal access to our airwaves (provided they go through the proper training of course).

~ NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! ~

Join us for info on how to get your own radio show, become a news or sports reporters, or get involved with any of the other numerous fields at the station (promotions, engineering, event planning etc.)

Winter Orientation is on Tues., Jan., 8th at Corwin Pavilion on the UCSB Campus @ 6pm.

A.S. Womxn’s Commission presents to you our annual WOMXN OF COLOR CONFERENCE happening February 2nd, 2019 at the Student Resource Building.
“Through Solidarity We Stand, Through Healing We Rise”, is this year’s theme as we all work together to promote allyship, community building, solidarity and healing.This conference is completely FREE with food and gear provided but we unfortunately cannot provide housing or childcare but you are more than welcome to bring along your dependents. Chancellor Henry T. Yang, Executive Vice Chancellor David Marshall, and University Librarian Kristin Antelman will hand out FREE copies of the UCSB Reads 2019 book to UCSB students. The 2019 selection is the graphic novel The Best We Could Do by Thi Bui. Limited quantities are available so be sure to get here early!

Get a great workout in while simultaneously relieving stress with our Wednesday and Saturday Yoga Series! We will be having the series taught by a certified Yoga instructor, at Santa Catalina Hall in the Linda Vista Room. We will be providing some mats but please bring your own mat or towel if you already have one!
