The Freak Power Ticket

Monday’s broadcast will not only feature a musical tribute to Leonard Cohen (who died last week), but also a LIVE interview with former Ojai-resident Julie Christensen, who had a lengthy stint performing with the legendary Canadian artist.

Julie Christensen is also known for her work with the twangy post-punk band Divine Horsemen in Los Angeles during the 1980s. During her time in the 805, she produced a number of solo records, three of which were on Santa Barbaran Joe Woodard‘s Headless Household label. Upon relocating to Nashville in 2013, Julie formed a new band, Stone Cupid, whose debut album was released earlier this year.

Julie announced the news of Cohen’s passing on her official website:

“I’m so sad to report I’ve lost my friend Leonard Cohen at the age of 82.

He lives forever in the Tower of Song. Thank you, Leonard.”

Stay tuned tomorrow from 11am-12noon PST on KCSB-FM 91.9 in Santa Barbara.
