When you get back from break and are thinking about Warm Up…there are some parking guidelines.

Re: Warm Up Weekend Campus Parking and Events
Friday, April 7 through Sunday, April 9, 2017
Campus officials have been working diligently over the past few months to develop a workable parking plan to ensure the safety of our campus community of students, faculty, staff, and visitors who require the use of campus facilities during the upcoming “Warm Up” weekend. It is our goal to maintain a safe campus, open to uses consistent with our mandate as a campus of the University of California, while at the same time discouraging unauthorized use of campus parking facilities to gain access to Isla Vista during an unsanctioned event known as “Deltopia.”
Effective Friday, April 7 through Sunday, April 9, the campus will be closed to public parking beginning at 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. the following day. In order to park on campus during these times, all vehicles must display a valid “Reserved”, ”A”, “B”, “C”, “H”, “22 IVA” or Annual “Night & Weekend” Parking Permits, or a special event permit. Daily, Visitor and 15 Day Permits issued from the Permit Dispensers will expire at Midnight, Friday, April 7 and Saturday, April 8. These permits are not valid for overnight parking. Unauthorized vehicles parked overnight on campus are subject to a $300 citation fine and having the vehicle impounded at the owner’s expense. The parking restrictions will cease between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.to allow for normal business during each day.
Some parking lots will be restricted or closed to support campus sponsored events or law enforcement personnel. These lots will reopen Sunday morning, April 9.
Patrons attending Spring Insight and other campus sponsored events are welcome to park near their respective events held at Campbell Hall, Pollock Theater, the Recreation Center, Caesar Uyesaka Stadium, or other campus venues until that venue is closed for the evening.
As in previous years, a number of our campus parking locations are subject to closure and access will be limited to support enhanced safety and security measures. Off campus residence halls will closed to visitors and a “no guest policy” will be in effect. Checkpoints will also be in place on all roads entering campus on Friday and Saturday afternoon/evening, and unauthorized vehicles will be denied access. Please feel free to visit our “Warm Up” Information web site at www.tps.ucsb.edu for information on parking restrictions.
In addition to parking lot closures, traffic in and around the campus may be impacted. Access to El Colegio Road and/or Isla Vista may be closed for safety reasons if deemed necessary by law enforcement. If roads are closed, proof of residency may be required to enter. Certain roads in Isla Vista will also be barricaded and closed to vehicular traffic.
Departments with special parking needs during “Warm Up” weekend should contact Chris Zbinden, TPS Guest Services/Enforcement Manager, via email at chris.zbinden@tps.ucsb.edu as early in advance as possible. This will allow us to better plan the logistics of parking to meet your needs and hopefully help you avoid any difficulties with parking.
We will be making every effort to ensure the safety and security of our students, faculty and staff on “Warm Up” weekend. This is a top priority for our campus.
