UCSB Human Rights Board

For Humans Rights Week ,the Humans Rights Board (HRB), Environmental Justice Alliance (EJA) and Making Adventures Possible for All Students (MAPAS) have teamed up for an introductory nature photography workshop. Participants will learn about angles, lighting, color theory, and more.

All participants will be entered in a giveaway where they have a chance to win a go-pro, national park pass, REI gift card, hammock, or spike ball set.

When: Wednesday, 2/9 @ 2-5pm
Where: Meet at the Annex to borrow a camera and then we will all walk to the lagoon for the photography lesson.

No experience necessary and cameras will be provided (while supplies last).We are using this event as a way to encourage students who are traditionally underrepresented in the outdoors to come join, but all are welcome to attend!

Join AS Program Board, the UCSB Resource Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity (RCSGD), and the Trans & Queer Commission…for an exclusive comedy set and Q&A with internationally acclaimed speaker, ALOK Vaid-Menon, on Thursday February 10th at 7PM in IV Theater. *
ALOK (they/them) is an globally-recognized and accomplished writer, performer, and public speaker. As a mixed-media artist their work explores themes of trauma, belonging, and the human condition. They are the author of Femme in Public (2017), Beyond the Gender Binary (2020), and Your Wound/My Garden (2021). They are the creator of #DeGenderFashion: a movement to degender fashion and beauty industries and have been honored as one of HuffPo’s Culture Shifters, NBC’s Pride 50, and Business Insider’s Doers.
