Getting Through College?
Hosted by Office of the External Vice President for Local Affairs (EVPLA)
Friday, October 11, 2019 at 3:30 PM – 6 PM
Corwin Pavilion
Join us on October 11th, for the opportunity to engage UCSB administration and elected representatives in a meaningful conversation about issues pertaining to basic needs and the overall college experience. Topics discussed will include, but are not limited to food & housing security, access to health care, transportation and accessibility, undocumented student support, and more…
Through this event, we hope to facilitate a safe space for community members to share their personal experiences and struggles with basic needs while getting through college. From there, we can engage in collaborative and constructive dialogue to brainstorm potential solutions to the issues discussed. The event will conclude with a resource fair highlighting the ongoing efforts to support students, by various departments and groups at UCSB.
The evening’s panelists will include:
CA Assemblymember Monique Limón
US Congressman Salud Carbajal
3rd District County Supervisor Joan Hartmann
Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Margaret Klawunn
Asst. Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Mike Miller
Don’t miss this special opportunity to express your needs, and to get connected with the resources that can help you succeed at UCSB.
Light snacks will be available starting at 3:30pm with the panel beginning at 4:00pm.
