Dear Campus Community:
|With the conclusion of the spring quarter, and in keeping with our previous communication, the campus today (June 13) will return to the masking guidelines of the California Department of Public Health. Masks are strongly recommended but no longer required in indoor spaces on campus, regardless of vaccination status, except when working alone in private offices. Universal masking is still required in high-risk settings such as healthcare facilities.|
We respect and support everyone’s individual decisions, including the choice to continue to wear a mask. Wearing a mask protects not only the individual wearing the mask but also others in our community who may be immunocompromised or otherwise at greater risk.
Free surgical face masks are available on campus at many locations, including the Library, UCEN, and RecCen; N95 respirators also are available upon request at the UCEN Bookstore Customer Service Desk and at the Pardall Service Center. Employees may also request N95 respirators through an EHS request form.
The COVID-19 Working Group and Response Team will continue to monitor campus and community conditions and will provide updated guidelines if public health recommendations change in the future.
For questions related to the masking requirement or our campus’s overall response to the pandemic, our COVID-19 Response Team can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Information about our COVID-19 response can also be found at https://www.ucsb.edu/COVID-19-information.
