Every year, Associated Students presents awards to student groups, student leaders, staff, and faculty who have contributed greatly to campus through advocacy, service, support and programming. It is expected that nominees have performed outstanding service to Associated Students or that boards or projects have gone “above and beyond” their day to day operations to serve Associated Students and the UCSB student body.

Awards

Robert L. Lorden Award for Outstanding Leadership in Service to Associated Students

This award honors a UCSB undergraduate student each academic year who has performed outstanding service to the Associated Students through their leadership for the organization.

Jeremy Johansen Award

The Jeremy Johansen award is given to an individual who has demonstrated endurance, persistence, and courage while in service to Associated Students.

Executive Director Award

Conferred upon the Associated Students entity which has displayed the most responsiveness to the Vision 2020 Student Strategic Plan.

Organization of the Year

This award is given to the A.S. organization that has consistently made outstanding contributions to student life throughout the year.

Staff Member of the Year

This award is given to a staff member who has provided outstanding service to the students involved in Associated Students

Student Staff Member of the Year

This award is given to a student-staff member who has done an outstanding job throughout the year.

Senate Member of the Year

This award is given to a Senate member that has consistently performed outstanding work on behalf of Senate throughout the year.

Project of the Year

For an outstanding project that made a contribution to the student body.

Member of the Year Awards for A.S. Organizations

Each A.S. organization is invited to select their member of the year. Chairs should submit the organization name and the name of the member of the year. These individuals will be recognized at the banquet.
