Hey Ya'll I'm Edward Muna, a third year Political Science major, and I want to be your External Vice President of Statewide Affairs (EVPSA) with DP Party. We have seen much in the last year, a 32% fee increase, acts of hate on campuses across the UC System and state/nation wide budget problems. Students are fired up and can't take it no more, and it shows with campus actions happening statewide and across the nation. With this growing movement it is important now more than ever that we have students who have the experience, organizing skills and passion to move forward with the student movement and it is because of my belief in the power of the student movement, that I am the prime candidate for you and the campus.
In order to serve you as EVPSA I rely on my experience:

Co Chair of Associated Students Queer Commission.
Member of the Board of Directors for the United States Student Association.
Member of the Multicultural Center Board of Directors.
Lobbying state and nationwide legislators for bills like the Student Aid and Fiscal Responsibility Act (SAFRA).
Working on registering 10,241 students for the 2008 presidential election.

My plans for the future:

To work more effectively with the Student Lobby Corps by expanding their lobbying power.
Make more effective use of the EVPSA budget by reducing conference expenditures and investing them back into campus activism.
Fight to keep the UC Regents accountable .
Invest more efforts into localized campus activism and

Douglas "Doug" Wagoner - Bettering Our School System (B.O.S.S.)

Hi! My name is Doug Wagoner and I hope to be YOUR next External Vice President of Statewide Affairs (EVPSA).

Who am I and why should you vote for me?

Second year history major & LGBT minor with a 3.9 GPA
My past/current involvements: Dean of Students Intern in the Office of Judicial Affairs, Resident Assistant in Santa Rosa Residence Hall (da rosssaaa!), Community and Development Intern at Pacific Pride Foundation, AS Finance Board, AS Legislative Council, AS Queer Commission, Queer Student Union, UCSB's Gospel Choir, and Naked Voices a cappella!
I organized the "Speak Up Against Hate Week", met with local police in order to voice student concerns, was trained as a lobbyist at multiple national conferences, and advocated for affordable education at UC Regents meetings as well as to US Congress
As EVPSA I will continue to raise the bar for voter registration in light of next year's elections, advocate for affordable higher education in partnership with University of California Students Association (UCSA) and United States Students Association (USSA), utilize University committees to retain student services, and increase the visibility of opportunities available through the EVPSA office (ie. AMAZING conferences!)
I stand for social justice, empowering ALL people to live happy, healthy lives, and maintaining the integrity of UCSB and Associated Students as student centered communities

Hi again UCSB!

It's me, Celina Ayala. I am a third year Environmental Studies and Psychology double major. I currently serve as YOUR External Vice President of State-Wide Affairs and I would LOVE to have your vote for RE-ELECTION.

This year I have:

PRIORITZED: Student Aide and Fiscal Responsibility Act, DREAM Act, preservation of Cal Grants, and the investment of higher education.
REGISTERED close to 3000 first years during our week of welcome
MOBILIZED the largest UC delegation state-wide to the November regents meeting to combat the 32% fee increase
ORGANIZED for the September 24 walk out and the October 14th teach in
Planned and committed to hosting our Womyn of Color Conference
LOBBIED assembly members, senators, congressmen, and the UC regents on a local, state- wide, and national level.
Taken part in the legislation process for the state's higher education committee
ADVOCATED against the regents proposal for differential fees and for institutionalaid

Next year I Will:

RUN a get out the vote campaign since this June holds the primaries for the gubernatorial race, attorney general, and our local election.
RETURN the UCEN to students and provide more student jobs and student space
RUN a state-wide sustainability campaign
HOST the Student of Color Conference at UCSB
Lobby against the $600 million UC expected budget deficit for the upcomingyear
