My name is Cori and thanks for taking the time to learn more about me and my reasons for running as your EVPLA. Local affairs have been a part of my college life since day one and I have the passion, motivation, and experience to server as your EVPLA.
Experience:

Isla Vista Community Relations Committee Chair '09-'10 and Treasurer '07-'09 where I helped organized events like Pardall Carnival, Chilla Vista, IV Skate Park, and a Work Study professional development program in IV
Project Area Committee representative where I work on development plans in IV
Student representative for Academic Senate Council on Planning and Budget
IV Liaison for EVPLA '09-'10
Environmental coordinator for EVPLA '07-'08
Orientation Staff '09
Education-10 section leader

Plans:

Community Center- construct a space for students and community members to gather with accessible and beneficial resources
Leadership credit classes- increasing class availability by offering more classes and allowing students to gain credit for some of their extra curricular activities
Rental housing property in IV for students to provide cheaper housing. Eventually we hope that this will undercut the current outrageous market in IV
Continuation of Halloween 10 year plan where we will offer events like concerts on the streets

Ahmed Naguib - Bettering Our School System (B.O.S.S.)

What's up fellow students? My name is Ahmed Naguib and I would like to be your EVPLA! I am a third year Political Science and Business Economics Major with a Minor in education. I have a real passion for education and improving the world around me. As EVPLA I would like to help the Isla Vista Community by doing the following things:

Campus Involvement in IV. - Have more things done in IV helping create a community and home atmosphere.
Safer Halloween and Flotopia by creating a Festivals Committee to help plan the events. This will improve the efficiency, safety and environmental impact of the these local traditions.
Fight for student and residents rights by insuring Doreen Farr works on promises she made to students and providing more resources for the students

These are just a few examples of the way I plan to make Isla Vista into a place that has a cohesive and balanced community. I plan to use the diverse experience I have had as a Resident Assistant, a Rep-at-Large with the Residence Hall Association, and as the Halloween Coordinator in the EVPLA office. Remember I will make IV into a place that is safe, fun, and homey at the same time.
