Join Associated Students Dept. of Public Worms and the Santa Barbara County Resource Recovery and Waste Management Division for a fun, free workshop to learn the ins and outs of how to manage your own backyard compost.
We’ll explore what foods can be composted, how to keep food scraps balanced with yard waste and talk over some of many uses for compost. Our worms will also show you what they can do to help you compost, especially if you don’t have much space.
Snacks will be provided! We will have demos of Earth Machines, Vermicompost Bins, and finished compost.
We only host this workshop once a year, so be sure to get it on your calendar and tell your friends!
The event will be held at the Isla Vista Food Co-Op, from 12-1pm on Saturday, April 14th!
We will be raffling off a brand new worm bin, just in time for Earth Day!
Everyone is welcome, come enjoy community, snacks, and a great learning opportunity to help better yourself and the planet!
