It’s Financial Literacy Month! A.S. Community Financial Fund will be holding one event a week throughout the month. The second event is tomorrow (Wednesday April 12) at 4:30 in Loma Pelona.


Stop by the Associated Students Pardall Center tomorrow between 4-8pm to learn about what Isla Vista Tenants Union does for the community! There will be free SWAG, food, and info about how to get involved.

Professor Miroslava Chávez-García (UCSB History) explores Mexican male migrants’ longing for economic opportunity, masculine affirmation, and emotional fulfillment through personal letters. Offered as part of UCSB Reads 2017.

UCSB READS 2017 AUTHOR TALK: LUIS ALBERTO URREA
Hailed by NPR as a “literary badass” and a “master storyteller with a rock and roll heart,” Luis Alberto Urrea is the author of numerous books of fiction, nonfiction and poetry. Born in Tijuana to a Mexican father and American mother, Urrea uses his dual culture to explore greater themes of love, loss and triumph. A gifted storyteller, he has received an American Book Award for his memoir Nobody’s Son and was a Pulitzer Prize finalist for “The Devil’s Highway,” among many accolades. Urrea’s bestselling novel “Into the Beautiful North,” the UCSB Reads 2017 selection, follows a young woman on a memorable quest to define herself without borders. FREE.
