Important Update

HALLOWEEN TOWN FORUM on Tuesday, October 20th from 7-9pm in IV Theater 2. Come learn what is in store for this year's Halloween festivities."

"Cars parked on all of Del Playa and the 6500 block of Trigo will need to be moved off of the street by 3:30pm on Friday, October 30th. Also keep in mind that road barricades will go up at 6:30pm on the same day, so vehicle access to your house may be limited.

Dear UCSB Community,

As everyone knows, Halloween is fast approaching. We (External Vice President for Local Affairs, Clayton Carlson, and staff) have been hard at work refining the details of Halloween 2009 and updating the new Halloween website. There are numerous changes from last year we would like you to know about, and we are sending this email to encourage you to get the facts..

Please become an active citizen of our University Community by informing yourself about safety issues and the changes related to parking, roadblocks, and ordinances in effect for Halloween weekend. Also please note that we will be hosting a Halloween Town Hall Forum on October 20th from 7-9pm in IV Theater 2.

Furthermore, we would like to encourage the University Community to keep Halloween a local event. The influx of out-of-town guests results in fiscal, physical, and environmental impacts on the small area that Isla Vista occupies. In addition, Halloween weekend has
become a time when many community members choose to leave the area to avoid the crowds and disarray that the weekend typically brings. As fellow students, we would like you to discourage out-of-town guests from visiting for the Halloween festivities in order to keep Halloween a local and fun event.

Sincerely,

Clay Carlson
