Environmentalism is for everyone –
find your place in EAB!
Our Vision
The charge of the Environmental Affairs Board (EAB) is to protect, preserve and enhance the environment, principally at UCSB and its surrounding communities, but also broadly. We focus on ecology, energy, climate change, the economy, and environmental justice to make a difference in the global community. We coordinate and coalition-build with other groups to promote environmental perspectives throughout the University and its surrounding communities, as well as at the state, national and global level.
Who We Are
The Environmental Affairs Board is a branch of UCSB’s Associated Student Government and is the largest and most active environmental group on campus. We strive to support our members through friendship, leadership development, service, and fun. By extending the environmental movement to individuals from all walks of life, we’ve created a tight-knit community dedicated to changing the way we interact with the world.
What We Do
We tackle a broad range of issues, from lobbying for climate change and coastal protection to greening local businesses and introducing locally grown and organic foods to our community. Check out our current campaigns. EAB actively serves Isla Vista and the surrounding area by planting trees, cleaning the beach, and picking up trash on our streets. For weekly volunteering and social activities, check out our calendar of events.
How to Join
Anyone can join EAB! We don’t charge dues, so just come to a meeting, volunteer event, or social activity, and you’re in! While we encourage members to attend our weekly meetings, this is not necessary for membership. We appreciate and welcome whatever level of commitment your schedule permits, so come out and experience environmentalism with us!
Meetings
We meet every Tuesday at 7pm upstairs in the MCC. Hear announcements, work on campaigns, socialize and eat delicious organic food!
