ACTION ITEM REPORTS/DISCUSSION

Sam- adaptive sports exhibition night update – will contact Judith this week.

Ali/Jeremy- Budget Update, Jeremy- Funding Update – discussion of lock in fee between Ali and Scott.  CODA cannot have it’s own lock-in fee because the deadline has passed.  The only way we can get money is if we apply to pull money from the AS finance board.  We have unofficially been appropriated $500 for next year.  Let’s prepare for next year to go for a lock-in fee.  Scott is going to follow up with Leg Counsel to see if there is anyway to get around this with an internal lock in fee.

Chris- Speakers Update – Dr. Janet Shapiro will be here on the 21st.  Dr. George Singer will be here on the 20th.  Chris will be producing these events.  What about the other evening events?  Do we want to have the community panel on the Monday or the Thursday.  Aim for having the sport’s night on Monday night.  Sam to check with Judith on this.

For the sporting event…

-Goal ball, wheel chair basketball, having other agencies come out to showcase their programs? – having an awareness segment in which we utilize the SB Adaptive sports wheel chairs?

Ali to make a preliminary flyer to target professors.  We want to have professors offer extra credit for attending the evening events.

West-Sedgwick Reserve Update.  We will need to identify another date.  The 3 dates the group discussed are the 10th, 24th, or the 25th.  West to check in to scheduling another date.  He is talking to transportation services re: getting a bus.

Elisabeth- Promo Ideas, flyers – Brought a flyer.  Ideas to get the news out.  Let’s put facts/statistics on the signs (i.e. 1 in 5 persons has a disability…)

Jim- what about writing letters to the editor of the Nexus?  Tell an anecdote and at the end say something about DAW.  This should be coordinated.  Let’s

communicate.

Eric- Web Update Group- Any ideas for additions to site?  We need to get Eric word for word postings.

Everyone- DAW- any new ideas? Info for handouts?

Radio Crew (West, Ali, Elisabeth, Sam, anyone else who comes on Monday)- Update

Sam, Jeremy, and West put together a sample/mock up thing last week.  It went well.  West is coordinating a meeting to do a more professional sample that will be given to KCSB next week.  It’s coming through, it’s not going away!

-New Business/ Open Forum

-Ali is up for an award with Best Buddies.  Congratulations!

            -the awards are coming due.

-Jim is heading out to the National Eye Institute and giving a talk at a convention in Phili. Traveling Wishes!
