Hey hey! So you’re interested in the Community Affairs Board...yeah! My name is Alyssa Hill and I am the Chair for CAB this year. I’m a senior majoring in Biological Science, minoring in Exercise Sport Studies and always looking for a way to make someone smile. I believe volunteering is more than giving your time to help those in need. It’s a learning experience that will teach you more about way the world works than any textbook or reader ever could. And “learning by doing” is great reason to get involved with CAB. Volunteer when you can, join a committee, plan your own event! Whether it’s through our Community Affairs Board or your own club, I hope you continue to put some time aside and go out of your way to give back.

Hi! I’m so glad you’re interested in CAB. If you like to help others and do great things for the community you live in, then this is the right place for you! Just to let you know a little bit about me, I am a third year Sociology major and Education minor. I enjoy being involved and doing community service because I think it is a great way to meet new people, empower younger children to volunteer, and I learn so much from everyone I get to serve and work with. I am also an officer in Best Buddies, which is an international organization that fosters one-to-one friendships with people with and without intellectual disabilities, so if you have any questions or want to take part in it, feel free to contact me.

Hey guys! I'm Nancy Ly, a 2nd year fan of CAB and 1st year Public Relations Coordinator! In case you were wondering about my major, it's English.  I love to eat and shop- those are my two biggest passions.  My third biggest passion, is of course, volunteering!  Lastly, I love meeting new people, so I hope to meet you one day and be side-by-side with you volunteering somewhere! HI!! I'm Ariel and I am a senior (eek) studying political science with an emphasis in international relations. I love to travel and I love kids and I love volunteering. A combination of my three loves would make my life complete. I am almost there... I've combined my love of volunteering and my love of kids and centered my energy around the Family Literacy Program, which matches kids from IV Elementary with students at UCSB for once a week tutoring fun! Hey! My name is Dana LaVertu and I'm the Key Volunteer Coordinator. I'm a 4th year psychology and Spanish major. I love taking photos, eating way too much and volunteering! I currently volunteer at a few different animal shelters as well as volunteer a lot working with the homeless in Isla Vista as well as downtown SB. Hello! I'm a senior majoring in Electrical Engineer. I love getting involved and stretching my limits by volunteering and serving the community. I've been a part of this organization since my sophomore year, and I'm super excited to take the position as Childcare Coordinator this year. I really encourage all of you to come and check this organization out. It never hurts to take some time off of academics to help our community right here, right now! My name is Kelly and I am a Senior majoring in Psychology and minoring in Education. I am graduating this Fall and I plan on getting my teaching credential next year. This is my third year in CAB and I love to volunteer! In my free time I like to play with my puppy, read, BBQ, and go to the beach.

Hey everyone, my name is Kim and I am the hunger and homeless coordinator for the 2009/2010 school year. I host a breakfast club event every Tuesday morning at 9:00am in Anisq' oyo park. I would love to see you all there, CAB is an amazing place to volunteer! See you soon.

CAB is an awesome way to get involved with helping the community, and it never hurts to meet others and build your skills through teamwork! My name is Kyria Edwards and I am the Senior Citizens Coordinator for CAB! I have been volunteering since childhood and have also had the opportunity to do social work overseas as well. I worked closely with the homeless community as a CAB leader last year, and am looking forward to new experiences this year. Together we can make the world a more beautiful place!

Hi Everyone! My name is Susan and I'm a 4th year Biopsychology major with a Japanese minor. I was a competitive gymnast for 10 years and I still love to flip around every once in a while! I am also a huge fan of Hello Kitty! I fell in love with CAB last year and am so glad to be involved as Public Outreach and Boys and Girls Club Coordinator this year!
